Community Input Sought by New Developer
Ian Birchall & Associates (IB+A) of San Francisco are the architects for a new project slated for the Jack London District. The project will be located between Embarcadero and 2nd Street where the Mingles & Rolanda's space is now. (Mingles has a lease through 2009, so don't assume this will immediately happen.)
The architect and developer will be showing off the latest proposed design on Wednesday, 8/16 at 6:30pm at 229 Harrison - NOT at Covenant House as previously reported in the Jack London News August print edition.
Please take time to see what the developers have in mind and provide feedback. And if someone could help point out that the last thing we need is yet another wall block along the Grand Embarcadero Canyon, I'd appreciate it. I'll be at the Planning Commission Meeting to find out why, yet again, the conditions of approval are not being inforced by City Staff. (This time in regards to historic preservation mitigation funds that were required by Signature Properties and Pulte Homes.)
Please go and speak! See what's on the table and make suggestions. They don't have to listen, but give them credit for at least having a meeting.
