Ghazal Indian Cuisine NOW OPEN!
Another restaurant has graced the Jack London District with their presence! Ghazal Indian Cuisine has made a massive improvement to the 2nd & Broadway corner, in the space that once was home to the nightclub Bluesville. Across from Everett & Jones, this new eatery builds on the fabulous diversity of culture and cuisine that we are lucky to have in the JLD.

Their first night of business - yesterday, 4/21 - already had a good crowd and staff will surely get the swing of things with a bit more practice. The food is already outstanding and I can't wait to go back. The menu is quite a bit more extensive than Breads of India (also good - in Old Oakland), although they don't have a full bar.

Three new restaurants [Cucina Poblano, MoNO, & Ghazal) for the District in one year?! Isn't that great?!

Bakery in Negotiation with Jack London Square
Miette, a lovely bakery in the SF Ferry Building, is in negotiations to add a production facility and outlet in Jack London Square. Here's a blurb on it from SFGate. It's the "sweet news" in the second section. While the article mentions being in the "public market" section, I think that also includes the ground floor of 66 Franklin, so we could see them arrive before the finale of the Jack London Market project.

Nothing is official yet... negotiations are still in progress.

In case you live in a cave and haven't noticed, the Jack London Market is up to about five or six floors in steel. It's moving right along!
